One of the things I subscribe to is the New York Times. This costs me £1 a week to access the stories and journalism and also an alternative view on world events to the UK media.
Today I read a feature on Laurie Anderson.
This quote jumped out:
"Americans have traditionally demanded coherent and simple national stories. Now many of these stories no longer make any sense. But so far nothing has replaced them. We are in story limbo, and for a storyteller this is an intensely interesting place to be."
Here she is with Peter Gabriel - I heard this song performed on his original 'So' tour almost 40 years ago...
