Congratulations to all those students picking up A level results today, and well done to all the teachers, learning support staff and parents who have supported them during the last two years. As my Principal says, this is a team effort and even those working with those students when they were younger all contributed to their success. I know that some of those picking up A* results in Geography today at my own school were introduced to creative geographies back in Year 7 and 8 which contributed to them choosing Geography at GCSE in the first instance, and then choosing to continue to 'A' level.
I taught some of those students for four years out of that total journey... so well done to all teachers.... and of course some of those students had geography introduced to them in the Primary phase in a way which meant they would always have it as one of their favourite subject and one in which they felt they could succeed.
The TES analysis page is here, and gives some good news on Geography entries, which are up.
