Feb 26: What's the weather?

One of the first acts for many when waking is to open the curtains or peer through the blinds, and work out what the weather is doing and make some plans for the day ahead based on that, or the predictions of apps or weather presenters. The weather has a big impact on our lives in the UK, as is one of the things we talk about most often with casual acquaintances.

The weather is difficult to predict. I use the Yr weather app for preference.

This draws in data from a number of locations and presents it nicely.

One of the books on my shelves related to the weather is 'The Wrong Kind of Snow', which offers up a weather related fact or incident for every day of the year. It's written by Antony Woodward and Robert Penn.

Used copies are available.
