There has been a column in the Observer for some time now called 'The Joy of Small Things' written by Hannah Jane Parkinson.
Things are at the heart of our quotidian experiences. The products we surround ourselves with are part of our identity.
For some, the attachment becomes so great that they cannot bear to part with these items, which leads to hoarding.
The column has explored the joy of particular items and has now been turned into a book,
